Going Raw

LiliSome of my friends eat raw food, others don’t. I think it’s entirely up to their own particular mammy or daddy.

I know some people say doggies like me can change over from commercial dog food straight onto raw food, whereas others suggest that you should phase it out slowly as your doggie gets used to it. I know I don’t like to have raw and cooked together – yuck!

Good foods to try me with might be raw pet mince (you can buy this frozen, then defrost of course), raw chicken wings and beef marrow bones.

If you do change your doggie’s diet don’t worry if he or she doesn’t poo so much. This is normal with bones, so don’t overdo the bones!

A very interesting page. I’ve been thinking of ditching the kibble myself, but was worried about raw meat and bacteria etc. Very informative articles. Great blog too btw!

Chicken wings? Would they splinter or do you have to process everything down to gloop? Our little ‘un is gluten unfriendly so my two both just eat Butchers Tripe with a calcium supplement.

  3. My dad just gives me raw chicken, straight out of the Aldi tray, I crunch the bones and swallow the lot, like I would in the wild. Don’t cook chicken bones though – they do splinter.
